Axiom Studio
The Axiom Studio, located at NE 6th and Davis, is a team of creatives responsible for delivering extraordinary design solutions for retail marketing, brand activations, permanent environments, fixtures, and more. As designs are brought to life, the Studio team works in tandem with our fabrication team to produce exceptional custom builds. The Role
The Senior Designer develops unique, original designs and visualizations for a wide variety of brands, environments, and products. They not only excel at client work, they help Axiom build tools and mentor those around them. This designer will lead multiple teams and projects simultaneously. They are responsible for visuals, presentations, and mechanicals and how-tos for print and fabrication. They collaborate with account, studio, and production teams to ensure the success of creative projects.
You
You are a leader with a passion for all things design and thrive in a fast-paced team environment. Someone who owns their projects, an expert at proactively self-managing their time and workload across multiple teams and projects. You quickly digest a brief, problem-solve, and visualize solutions. You understand target audience needs, design trends and production limitations, and apply them to the creative process. You maintain a deep understanding of Axiom’s brand guidelines and standards. As a design team leader, you take full ownership of projects and use team resources to achieve creative goals. An ability to lead presentations, as well as communicate quickly and constructively to external and internal stakeholders makes working with you easy and collaborative. Work is delivered within established deadlines and you are proactive in communicating anticipated delays or disruptions.
With the team, you help organize project workflow, encourage exploration, and mentor others. You not only act as a role-model to other designers, but also as a representative of Axiom in the design community. Beyond work and strategizing with the Studio team, you also work with shop teams to strategize and deliver innovative, practical, and cost-effective design solutions. You enjoy researching and exploring current design, art, sculpture, and technology to further develop your design skills and sensibility. A curious learner, you are keen to investigate and experiment with new digital and manual processes for both designing and presenting.
Experience
Experience designing for retail with a strong understanding of both holistic and detailed elements. Experience in architectural, experiential, or product design. Nonessential skills and experience: hand sketching, hands-on/physical shop and manufacturing experience.
Tools
Fluency with 1) 3D modeling and rendering tools: SketchUp and V-Ray 2) Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and 3) Skilled in Apple Keynote. Non-essential experience with 3ds Max, Blender, and/or Marvelous Designer.

You know you’re succeeding when 1) you’re meeting deadlines with truly quality work 2) when your peers consider you collaborative, communicative, and they depend on you. And of course, when the clients are thrilled and keep coming back for more.
