The LEGO Speed Champions team is looking to add more horsepower to an otherwise fine tuned crew. The Senior Designer will be key in fuelling new ideas and develop high octane graphics. The ideal candidate is not only a highly skilled designer but also deeply enthusiastic about vehicle, racing, motorsports design and their culture, aesthetics, and technical details.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and drive the implementation of the creative vision given by the Project Core Lead Team 

  • Develop graphic design work upon Creative Briefs and deliver results in the form of LEGO products that meet expectations in terms of age complexity, audience appeal, play experiences and storytelling using our design principles and guidelines

  • Explore, visualize and sketch ideas for graphics that can realistically become a product if approved

  • Facilitate graphic ideation within the franchise

  • Create solutions to complex challenges in the graphic development process

  • Enhance collaboration with colleagues across LEGO Design and work with different design disciplines and various internal and external stakeholders in an effective and efficient way 

  • Design according to priorities of the respective franchise. Demonstrate ability to communicate and present in detail when needed within franchise or graphic design team

  • Master the knowledge of the different tasks, responsibilities and processes that are part of graphic development in LEGO Design

  • Stay updated on consumer insights and trends via internal and external platforms

  • Use consumer insights and other relevant information to enhance graphic development. And thereby meeting consumers’ desires and expectations in terms of age appropriacy, audience appeal, storytelling, play experiences and functions

  • Actively participate and co-facilitate boosts and brainstorming sessions

  • Channel graphic design expertise into product innovation 

  • Utilize functional expertise to Influence portfolio decisions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.

  • 5+ years of design experience, including leadership or lead designer roles.

  • Strong ability to develop graphics compliant with design guidelines, design process and design briefs. (portfolio required, including vector graphics).

  • Strong ability to maintain consistent high-quality design deliveries in an effective and efficient manner

  • Strong ability to develop graphics for manufacture 

  • Strong ability to understand and follow the graphic design process and use that knowledge autonomously ​

  • Knowledge of vehicle design, racing and automotive culture and design trends.

  • Strong proficiency in using Adobe illustrator and other graphic design tools 

  • Strong knowledge and application of design thinking and process

  • Deep passion for vehicle design, with knowledge of liveries, and visual identity trends

  • Ability to drive graphic design improvement initiatives 

  • Ability to complete and mentor on the graphic design processes and tasks 

  • Ability to develop solutions to complex graphic design challenges​

  • Ability to balance creativity with sponsor/brand requirements under tight deadlines.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
