The Opportunity
Due to our sustained growth, we are currently seeking a Senior Design Manager with hands-on experience on projects ranging from conceptual studies to detailed design. These position reports directly to the Delivery Manager and involves working on a diverse array of projects across the Mineral Processing industry. You'll be involved in the entire design process, from concept to detailed design.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Engineers/ Designers to ensure authorisation and issue of documents and drawings to the project team, vendors, sub-consultants, statutory authorities and other as necessary.
Lead effective meetings and represent the Company in communications pertaining to broad aspects of the project.
Develop or review job/project/study, engineering, execution scope, budget, and schedule dependencies and constraints
Monitor and evaluate the work of engineers and drafting staff allocated to the project to ensure that their technical competence and performance meet requirements.
Support continuous improvement of design standards, systems and processes
About You
- 15+ years of industry experience in mining, minerals processing, energy, and chemicals.
- Leading multidiscipline project teams
- Experience with projects from conceptual design through to detailed engineering.
- Understanding of project budget, schedule and able to communicate engineering deliverable requirements
- Relevant Engineering degree or non-university degree/diploma
- Proficiency in the engineering and drafting management process tailored to the client and project phase requirements
- Strong knowledge in 3D modelling and 2D design deliverable outputs.
- Ability to work autonomously
- A strong understanding of relevant Australian standards.
