Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Work collaboratively as a part of multi-disciplinary teams including engineers, industrial designers, researchers, interaction designers and prototyping experts 
  • Oversee and guide engineering efforts across multiple programs 
  • Identify potential problems early and suggest options based upon cost, time and requirements
  • Understand priorities to develop and communicate action plans internally and externally
  • Contribute engineering knowledge on technical feasibility early in programs and provide manufacturing and commercialization guidance as programs mature
  • Solve complex technical problems within the bounds of timing and cost constraints
  • Design, build and test prototypes to characterize performance
  • Translate the output of concept and prototyping efforts into fully realized, detailed designs while working under design controls

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 5-15 years of professional experience in product development engineering design
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
  • Experience with a range of prototyping and manufacturing methods, especially injection molding 
  • Experienced in managing all technical aspects of device development programs 
  • Experience developing medical or drug delivery devices 
  • Desire to design, build, test, and troubleshoot physical prototypes, including electronics and electromechanics
  • Proficient with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
