OUR TEAM
This role is located in Melbourne for our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. And being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.
YOUR ROLE
Develop and improve solid rocket motor designs and related equipment using Creo, ensuring designs meet project requirements.
Conduct engineering analysis such as structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics assessments to support and validate designs.
Create manufacturing and prototype plans, working closely with production teams to ensure efficient and practical delivery.
Lead research and development projects to strengthen propulsion technology capabilities and drive innovation.
Plan, conduct, and oversee testing programs to confirm design performance and functionality.
Prepare clear design and test reports, documenting outcomes, insights, and recommendations for stakeholders.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Experience in product development, ideally working with composite materials.
End-to-end design and engineering experience in high-performance, high-temperature, aerospace, propulsion, or similar mechanical systems.
Exposure to propulsion systems, rockets, energetics, or guided weapons is desirable but not essential.
Experience using simulation tools, preferably Ansys.
Ability to collaborate with and manage suppliers and manufacturing teams.
Comfortable with hands-on prototyping, testing, and product development activities.
Eligible for professional membership with Engineers Australia.
Flexible and willing to travel as required.
