What You’ll Do
- Responsible for the detailed design of Archer’s Electric Engine, with a focus on the integration of the motor, gearbox, inverter, and thermo-lubrication systems.
- Have direct design ownership over several components and be responsible for moving these parts through design, manufacturing/assembly, and test/validation phases.
- Develop innovative solutions to design problems.
- Design mechanical components like gears, shafts, pumps, structural housings, fasteners, oil transfer devices, etc.
- Create component drawings and work with suppliers to manufacture designs.
- Perform component level finite element analysis to validate designs.
- Present in design reviews.
- Design test setups for design validation.
- Support engineering prototype builds and design validation testing.
Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum Experience Requirement: Aerospace Design Engineer or related job title in which 60 months of experience in Mechanical design, Gearbox design, Engine/propulsion design was gained.
Alternate Education Requirement: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Alternate Experience requirement: Aerospace Design Engineer or related job title in which 24 months of experience in Mechanical design, Gearbox design, Engine/propulsion design was gained.
Travel Requirement: 10% domestic and international travel required.
