Stryker is seeking a collaborative Senior Design Engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical design, product development, and manufacturing processes. You are a proactive problem solver who can develop creative solutions, communicate effectively across teams, and independently drive design activities while maintaining a focus on quality, compliance, and customer needs.
What You Will Do
Research, design, develop, modify, and verify medical device components and modules with minimal supervision.
Translate design inputs into engineering specifications and subsystem-level designs.
Develop, prototype, and analyze solutions to establish proof of concept and resolve complex technical challenges.
Apply fundamental and advanced engineering concepts, practices, and procedures to problem solving.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of customer needs, product intended use, and relevant clinical procedures.
Build familiarity with business fundamentals, including financial models and project impacts.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, design controls, risk management, and the Quality Management System.
Independently create, maintain, and refine engineering documentation, including Design History File content.
Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to drive project success.
Demonstrate ownership, quickly assimilate new processes and technologies, prioritize work independently, and contribute as a key collaborative team member.
What You Need (Minimum Required Qualifications)
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or BioMedical & 2+ years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly Desired)
Working knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering practices and design principles
Technical ability to create engineering drawings and models, applying GD&T and CAE tools
Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to product design
Ability to Communicate basic plans and technical information to team members
