Summary Generated by Built In

At Anemoi, we’re transforming the maritime industry with cutting-edge Rotor Sail technology that brings modern engineering and sustainability together. From our headquarters in the UK and our production base in China, we design, build and deliver advanced automated wind-assisted propulsion systems that help shipowners and operators reduce fuel consumption and emissions — propelling the shipping industry towards a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Our ambition is bold but clear: to save 1,000 tonnes of CO₂ every day by installing 500 Rotor Sails by 2030. Imagine fleets of vessels crossing the world’s oceans using our Rotor Sail systems, harnessing renewable wind power to operate more efficiently and responsibly. We’re making that a reality, one installation at a time.

Senior Marine Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Anemoi’s Control Production Supervisors and Commissioning Engineers to provide engineering design support and to ensure electrical and control systems drawings and specifications enable the assembly, commissioning and testing of the marine equipment to the highest standards.
  • Work with our UK Engineering team and key suppliers in China to design, develop, and review electrical and control system designs for Rotor Sails including power distribution, electro-mechanical control, automation and instrumentation.
  • Manage the interfaces between the UK design team, China procurement and production team and supply chain to ensure clear and seamless communication of technical requirements to resolve efficiently any issues that arise.
  • Specify appropriate electrical and control components including PLC equipment, sensors, VFDs, enclosures, glands, cables, and associated interfaces for our Rotor Sail products, with focus on quality, availability, support, cost and lead time from the local (China based) supply chain.
  • Identify appropriate replacements for any components that are expensive or challenging to procure in China or are due to become obsolete.
  • Prepare, review and approve technical documentation in English and Chinese including electrical drawings, bills of materials, cable schedules, load calculations, commissioning and testing procedures.
  • Write clear and accurate procedures for resolving any technical issues that arise during commissioning, testing or in service, in collaboration with the Anemoi UK and China electrical and control engineers.
  • Support commissioning team with keeping clear records of all commissioning tests and any changes that need to be made, following up with as-built drawings for each project.
  • Support continuous improvement of commissioning procedures and documentation based on feedback from site commissioning team to maintain consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant marine classification societies (e.g. DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s Register, BV, ClassNK, CCS) and IEC standards and assist with obtaining product approvals from those classification societies.
  • Support procurement and production by preparing technical specifications and evaluating vendor proposals, including modification of as-built drawings and as-built specification revision
  • Support the integration and installation of our Rotor Sails onto vessels including review of integration design with the vessel electrical and control systems.
  • Provide on-site technical support during commissioning, testing, sea trials and operational handover.
  • Provide on-site or remote support to in-service maintenance and repair work.
