The Senior Design Checking Specialist:

• Examines engineering documentation of drawings and Creo 7 models for accuracy, completeness, and sound design to prescribed standards and contractual requirements.
• Interprets applicable drawing standard requirements and assesses the quality of the technical backup data.
• Validates model integrity utilizing best practices and established guidelines.
• Investigates errors and recommends solutions.
• Provides guidance in the correction of errors in calculations, dimensions, and design specifications.
• Collaborates with Designers and Engineers.
• Exercises authority to reject incorrect documentation in terms of technical content, standards, and specifications.
• Supports company Modeling and Drawing Standards on new and revised files.
• Follows ASME Standards, Military Standards and the BAE Systems Model and Drawing Standard Operating Procedures and mentors others in their use.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Associate's Degree with emphasis in engineering drafting/design and 6 years' experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience; plus a minimum of 2 years model and drawing checking experience.
• Proficient in Creo software and proficient in Windchill, TeamCenter or similar EPDM System.
• Proficient in tolerance analysis and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
• Proficient in use of applicable CAD equipment and drafting techniques including 3D modeling and manipulation of files.
• Excellent communication skills and the patience to explain drawing changes, standards requirements and documentation requirements.
• Comprehensive knowledge at the component, subsystem, and system levels.
• Comprehensive knowledge of production methods and understanding of human factors.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ASME Y14 standards.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in engineering drafting/design and 10 years' experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience; plus a minimum of 3 additional years of model and drawing checking experience.
• Ability to perform design work if required.
• Experience with Model Based Definition.
• Proficient in the use of Creo 7 software.
• Proficient with Adobe Pro for the purpose of PDF mark-ups.
• Experience with relevant applications in a Department of Defense environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of military drawing specifications, and applicable MIL-STD-31000.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
