As a Senior Decoration Development Engineer, here is a great opportunity to use your pre-press experience and graphic illustration skills, when cooperating with Product Design organizations, test center, production sites and other engineering departments, towards the goal of delivering world class decorations on LEGO® bricks!
This position requires onsite presence at Billund locations, why it is a prerequisite that you can be in the office 4-5 days per week. Relocation support is not offered for this role.
Core Responsibilities- Drive and own the pre-press flow for a portfolio of novelty decorations for LEGO® bricks, from concept to delivery.
- Ensure decoration recommendations for design organization and equipment developers in close collaboration throughout the full development process.
- Secure defined requirements and best practices are followed.
- Promote analytical fact-based approach and decision making.
- Challenge processes and procedures and support the development of the current ways of developing decorations.
- In specific cases provide specialist support to various development projects in the area.
- Be the point of contact between teams that are providing us with design intent through daily collaboration.
In the Decoration Development team we are working in a central position between design and production. We own and drive the process for maturing new Novelty Decorations and drive new opportunities within decoration capabilities.
The team consists of 8 dedicated employees located in Billund, focused on the pre-press process for delivering new decorations alongside developing new decoration processes to achieve even more opportunities for future decorations.
In this key role you will be supporting our ability to realize and decorate on new LEGO® element designs, needed for novelty Models. Furthermore, you will ensure that we are continuously offering high service, knowledge, and support towards Production to make sure that the decoration equipment is running with efficiency.
Do you have what it takes?- There can be various backgrounds of education for this role, e.g. Design Engineer, Product Design and Development, Graphic-Production related educations, graphic education combined with engineering education or experience, etc.
- Experience within the pre-press and graphic industry for 5+ years, where you have gained experiences from manufacturing printing technologies. It would be a great plus if your experience includes pad printing technology.
- Ability to work and communicate with a structured approach, handling many tasks at the same time and implement results and able to balance “eye-for-the-detail” and working with deadlines, is key to manage this role.
- Strong Adobe Illustrator experience.
- Preferably experience in working with manufacturing sites and production specialists in a global context.
- Theoretical understanding of technical design principles, in combination with great process understanding and the drive to maintain and develop these.
- Phenomenal energy, drive and ability to self-empower and have a curious approach about technologies, production principles and machine design in general.
