We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer/Administrator to support the US NDC OSS II Program. This role provides technical leadership across database architecture, administration, security, and mission data expertise while serving as a mentor to junior staff.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead Oracle database architecture, design, implementation, and lifecycle management
Partner with application teams to ensure seamless database integration
Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root‑cause analysis
Execute high‑level database administration, performance tuning, and optimization
Design, implement, and enforce database security controls, auditing, and compliance
Support mission‑critical operations, incident response, and continuity of service
Provide deep expertise in US NDC data structures, data flows, and mission data usage
Plan and guide scalability, availability, disaster recovery, and modernization initiatives
Participate in on‑call rotation and occasional after‑hours support
Contribute to long‑term mission continuity and organizational knowledge retention
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related experience. Additional experience, training, and/or certifications may substitute degree requirement.
US Citizen; Currently possessing DoD Top Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to a TS/SCI clearance upon hire.
IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)
Experience with Oracle GoldenGate for data replication, synchronization, and high-availability architectures.
Proven experience of senior-level Oracle DBA (5+ yrs)
Background supporting mission‑critical or operational systems
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree with 6+ years related experience
Prior DoD 24×7 mission support experience
Experience mentoring database engineers and DBAs
Background in long-term database architecture planning
Experience with databases in cloud and hybrid cloud environments, including migration, HA/DR, and security considerations.
