We are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Engineer experienced in highly available cloud database and services for a role in our Data Platform group focused on building and operating our cloud database and microservices infrastructure. The Data platform group owns all application and analytics data resources with a focus on deploying and configuring the underlying infrastructure, including data pipelines, and data security, to ensure data availability and uptime.
What you will be responsible for:
- Deploy cloud resources and configurations using DevOps tooling, preferably Terraform.
- Deploy, configure and manage AWS services like RDS, Aurora, MSK, Redis, Firehose, redshift, Kinesis, etc.
- Proactively monitor, tune, and optimize queries supporting multi-tenant SaaS applications.
- Monitor production database health and performance, including participation in on-call rotation
- Collaborate with software engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to meet data requirements and integrate databases with other systems
- Conduct code reviews and perform governance/approval functions.
Required Skills:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, with 5+ years of industry experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience supporting relational database solutions—including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL—in large-scale production environments.
- Experience with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for deploying and managing resources in public cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Proven experience in application development, preferably with Python and/or Java.
- Familiarity with cloud deployment concepts, including CI/CD, microservices (Kubernetes), networking, and security.
- Solid understanding of data security, governance, and access control best practices.
- Highly collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- Experience working in Agile engineering environments.
