Senior Database Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Developer with solid Linux system engineering skills.

Senior Database Developer Requirements Includes:

• Design, build, and maintain SQL-based application infrastructure.

• Provide data modeling experience.

• Support distributed data persistence and reporting.

• Configure relational database servers for data collection and analysis.

• Provides customer with day-to-day stable, and optimally designed, tested and implemented database environment that allows collection and analysis of diverse data.

• Ensure that all databases’ environments are deployed, maintained and managed via proactive monitoring of performance and capacity planning.

• Interface with application development, testing, and operational support teams on production/development issues to ensure that all database related issues are resolved to customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Math, Computers Science, and/or Physics

• Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

• Two (2)+ years’ Experience developing applications in Linux environment; Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Debian, SUSE, etc.

• Two (2)+ years’ experience in BASH scripting

• Five (5)+ years’ experience developing applications using C/C++, C#, Java.

• Two (2)+ years’ experience in MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB database development, installation, deployment, and upgrade procedures

• Source code management experience (Git, SVN, RTC) and the CI/CD pipepline

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 5+ years professional experience

• CompTIA Security+ (or EQV)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five (5)+ years Engineering of Enterprise grade Database systems such as Sybase, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Open-source Databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB. Experience with Elastic Search.

• Database performance tuning and Query optimization.
