About the Role

Seeking a SQL Server Database Developer to design, build, and tune relational database solutions in support of a fast-moving application development environment. You'll own the database design and development side of the house — schemas, stored procedures, and data models — while also digging into execution plans and indexing strategies to keep production workloads running fast and reliable. This role works closely with application developers, DBAs, and infrastructure teams, so you'll need to be just as comfortable writing clean T-SQL as you are explaining why a query plan went sideways.

Location: West Chester Township, OH On-site, | Long Term of Contract
USC only

What You'll Do

  • Design databases

  • Design and develop relational database structures, schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures.

  • Write T-SQL: Develop and maintain T-SQL code, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

  • Support application teams. Partner with application development teams on database design and data access strategies.

  • Review code: review database code and ensure adherence to best practices.

  • Optimize performance: Analyze SQL Server execution plans to identify performance bottlenecks, and recommend and implement indexing strategies.

  • Troubleshoot: Diagnose slow-running queries, resource-intensive workloads, blocking, deadlocks, parameter sniffing, and inefficient query patterns.

  • Use the toolset: Work with Query Store, Extended Events, Dynamic Management Views (DMVs), SQL Profiler, and Performance Monitor to pinpoint and resolve issues.

  • Collaborate on platform support: Work with DBAs and infrastructure teams to support production environments, deployments, upgrades, migrations, backup/recovery, and high-availability solutions.

What You'll Need
