Role SummaryAs a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll lead the development of advanced AI and machine learning models that drive personalized customer experiences and data-informed strategies across our business. This role combines deep technical expertise with business impact, helping shape the future of customer engagement and growth at Associated Bank. You’ll also mentor and collaborate with other data professionals to continuously enhance our analytics capabilities.
Key Accountabilities
Develop and deploy advanced recommendation systems and Next Best Experience models to deliver personalized, omni-channel customer experiences.
Drive the creation of segmentation and churn models to predict customer behavior and inform retention strategies.
Analyze customer engagement, pricing dynamics, and profitability to uncover growth and optimization opportunities.
Leverage natural language processing (NLP) to translate customer feedback and surveys into actionable insights.
Partner with model risk management and business leaders to ensure model compliance, interpretability, and responsible AI governance.
Champion a test-and-learn culture through design and evaluation of A/B and multivariate experiments.
Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams to build scalable, reliable, and compliant data pipelines.
Implement MLOps best practices using platforms such as SageMaker, DataIKU, or H2O, integrating AI solutions with MarTech tools like Salesforce or Adobe Experience Cloud.
Education & Experience
Required:
Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied analytics
Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
Experience with cloud data environments such as AWS, Hadoop, or Snowflake
Strong communication and storytelling skills to translate data insights for business leaders
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Preferred:
Financial services, FinTech, or customer analytics experience
Familiarity with SageMaker, DataIKU, H2O, Adobe Experience Cloud, or Salesforce CRM
Experience with MLOps frameworks and automated model pipelines
