The Role
We are looking for an experienced data scientist to help ReUp leverage our data to find insights and create more impact. You will play a central role in making ReUp more data-driven, defining what data science at ReUp can look like, and bringing new technologies and methods to our company. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Analytics. If you are a curious and creative data scientist, then we want to hear from you!
What you'll do

  • Utilize statistical methods and machine learning techniques to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights for teams across the company.
  • Develop and implement predictive models, large language models, and recommendation algorithms to guide business decisions and drive measurable results.
  • Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests to measure the impact of changes to the student experience.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across ReUp to understand their needs, proactively develop ideas to improve their work, and educate them on the analyses you are doing.
  • Be an active supporter in the implementation of findings, including collaborating closely with key stakeholders, data engineering, analytics, and leadership.
  • Provide recommendations and thought partnership to the Director of Analytics on data science best practices.
  • Create documentation and templates necessary to build the data science function at ReUp.
  • Independently manage your work and deadlines to be an efficient partner to internal stakeholders.
  • Consistently and independently deliver high-quality insights and recommendations with minimal oversight.


This role will enable ReUp to:

  • Grow and develop the data science muscle at ReUp.
  • Find never-before-uncovered insights using our expansive data set.
  • Build new data science products to inform improvements in learner services, marketing, finance, partner success, and other teams at ReUp.
  • Impact outcomes for learners and insights for colleges, universities, and state partnerships.

  • Advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative focused study [or comparable experience in the field].
  • 4+ years of related work experience in data science.
  • Experience with machine learning, predictive modeling, and natural language processing.
  • Experience using data science to make measurable improvements in performance outcomes.
  • Ability to engage cross-functional audiences in conversations about analysis and data.
  • Experience with statistical analysis techniques such as correlation and regression.
  • Strong fluency in SQL, Python.
  • Experience with at least one analytics / visualization tool such as Tableau and Mode Analytics.
  • Familiarity with post-secondary education data, a plus.
