About You:
As a Sr. Data Scientist at NinjaTrader, you will shape the future of the world’s leading retail futures trading platform. By applying your data science skills and analytical mindset to a 20-year-old rich futures trading dataset, you will provide data insights and help define product experiences as we build for one of the largest communities of retail future traders globally. As the first data scientist at NinjaTrader, you will report directly to the Sr. Director of Data & Analytics. The work you do each day will lay the foundation for building data products at NinjaTrader.
In this role, you will:
- Analyze large and complex datasets to solve a wide array of challenging business problems using different analytical and statistical techniques.
- Work cross functionally with business operations, strategy, product and customer success teams to understand challenges and propose solutions.
- Design and build the data science solutions that deliver outsize value to our users and create differentiation for our product.
- Work with Data Engineers to build and implement data pipelines for new data sources.
- Build ML models and deeper analytics using SQL and/or Python to generate insights.
- Promote self service for business users and their data requests through PowerBI, Looker or other visualization tools.
- Evangelize and inspire best practices across data science; lead by example to build a culture of craftsmanship and innovation.
Key Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, or engineering.
- 5+ years of data scientist or similar role involving data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling and communication experience.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency with modern programming languages (Python).
- Strong understanding of common statistical and machine learning algorithms like clustering, tree/forest techniques, OLS, linear/nonlinear optimizations etc.
- Familiarity with modern AI techniques such as LLMs, Model tuning, Transformers, RAG and Neural Networks.
- Ability to create compelling visualizations using tools like PowerBI, Looker or Tableau.
- Experience working with datastores such as Snowflake, BiqQuery, Redshift and ETL and ELT pipelines.
- Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders, comfortable presenting to all audiences including executive leadership.
- Experience in building end to end data products that deliver business impact while aligning with stakeholders.
