Summary Generated by Built In
Build the models that help us hire smarter, coach better, and sell more.
Improveit Home Remodeling is looking for a hands-on Senior Data Scientist to help shape the next generation of how we use data and AI across our business.
In this highly visible role, you’ll report to the Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture & Data Science, serve as a key data science leader, and take ownership of our people and talent analytics. You’ll build models that help us predict which candidates are most likely to succeed, identify ways to improve sales performance, and give frontline leaders actionable insights to coach their teams more effectively.
You’ll also help build and own Improveit’s broader portfolio of machine learning and generative AI models, turning advanced analytics into tools our teams can actually use.
Your First Big Challenge
Your first major project will be transforming a manual sales performance report into an automated scorecard in Snowflake. This scorecard will become the foundation for future hiring prediction and AI-driven coaching initiatives planned for 2027.
In Your First 90 Days, You’ll:
  • Launch an automated sales performance scorecard with scheduled refreshes and no manual exports.
  • Scope Phase 2, an AI-powered coaching model for sales and call center leadership.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to establish candidate and associate data feeds from our ATS and HRIS into Snowflake.
  • Help design a secure, governed people-data model separated appropriately from customer data.
What You’ll Do
Own Our Data Science & AI Model Portfolio
  • Build, deploy, and own models across lead scoring, appointment scoring, propensity-to-buy, forecasting, hiring prediction, and employee coaching.
  • Develop generative AI and LLM solutions using Snowflake Cortex and other approved platforms, including retrieval, summarization, and agent workflows.
  • Maintain a strong model-governance framework covering ownership, documentation, performance, and review cycles.
  • Use AI-assisted coding and analytical tools to accelerate development while maintaining human review and accountability.
  • Partner with BI and Engineering to integrate model outputs into dashboards, applications, and business workflows.
Lead People & Talent Analytics
  • Build performance scorecards across our sales and call center organizations.
  • Develop predictive hiring models using candidate, associate, and performance data.
  • Create coaching models that translate performance patterns into practical recommendations for frontline leaders.
  • Incorporate privacy-by-design, bias testing, and adverse-impact analysis into people-related models before they are used by decision-makers.
Advance Revenue & Operational Analytics
  • Support models for lead scoring, appointment scoring, propensity-to-buy, and forecasting.
  • Apply Snowflake Cortex AI and LLMs to appropriate use cases, including call-transcript analysis.
  • Continuously monitor deployed models for performance and drift, with defined retraining schedules.
Turn Models Into Production Solutions
  • Move models from notebook to production using Snowflake, Snowpark, Cortex, and scheduled scoring.
  • Integrate model outputs into Salesforce, Omni dashboards, and internal tools.
  • Version, test, and document models so they are understandable, maintainable, and scalable.
Partner Across the Business
You’ll collaborate closely with HR, Sales, Call Center, Marketing, Accounting, Operations, BI, and Engineering to translate real business challenges into measurable analytical solutions. You’ll also provide data science coverage when the Sr. Director is unavailable and help mentor analysts in strong modeling practices.
What Success Looks Like
We’ll measure the impact of this role through:
  • Model Performance: AUC, precision, recall, calibration, lift, and drift.
  • Business Impact: Quality of hire, 90-day retention, ramp time, first-year performance, coaching adoption, and conversion lift.
  • Fairness: Adverse-impact ratios and bias-testing results.
  • AI Portfolio: Models in production, model-inventory coverage, and AI use cases delivering measurable impact.
  • Delivery: Scorecard refresh SLAs and on-time project milestones.

What You’ll Bring
Required / Core Experience
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of applied data science experience, including 3+ years deploying models into production with measurable business results.
  • Expert-level Python and SQL skills.
  • Strong experience with scikit-learn, XGBoost or LightGBM, and statsmodels.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, probability, experimentation, and causal inference.
  • Hands-on generative AI experience, including LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and model evaluation.
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical leaders.
Even Better If You Have
  • Snowflake experience, particularly Snowpark and Cortex AI.
  • Familiarity with dbt and Airbyte.
  • Experience with people analytics, sales performance, hiring models, fairness testing, or adverse-impact analysis.
  • NLP experience involving call transcripts or other unstructured data.
  • Experience with Omni, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Exposure to Salesforce, Five9, JazzHR, or ADP data.
  • Experience mentoring analysts or junior data scientists.
What We Offer
  • Highly competitive compensation package with incentive opportunities.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity.
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time.
  • Medical and dental coverage options.
  • 401(k) savings program with employer matching.
  • AFLAC supplemental insurance options.
  • Advanced technology and business tools.
  • A collaborative, results-oriented leadership team.
  • Meaningful professional growth and advancement opportunities.
  • The stability of a long-standing, award-winning industry leader.
