The Sr. Data Scientist is a highly skilled scientist and software developer reporting to the Director of Data Science with a broad skill set who will be responsible for developing advanced UI and Visualization capabilities that leverage modern, advanced data science techniques to the challenges GHX faces in helping to bend the cost curve in healthcare. The Sr. Data Scientist will leverage Generative AI solutions combined with internal and external data, to produce Co-Pilot applications to solve Healthcare Supply Chain problems.
The Sr. Data Scientist will need to be adept at producing intelligence that serves multiple stakeholders simultaneously, including the traditional GHX customer base of hospitals, manufacturers, and distributors, as well as patients, physicians, payors, government, and the investment community. In addition, the role will support internal GHX departments in making data-driven decisions.
The Sr. Data Scientist will have high level of expertise in UI design and visualization, as well as experience in full stack development and AI, Machine Learning and Data Science. They should have relevant experience in applying such tools to producing practical, scalable solutions. This person will work collaboratively within a team of data scientists as well as with end users, product management, development, and other stakeholder groups.
This person will need to work from our Louisville, CO office one day per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Create UI components to support continuous improvement through HITL and RLHF solutions that fit naturally in existing workflows.
- Work closely with end users and other stake holders to create solutions that are rapidly adopted.
- Envision and create UX components and workflows to optimize processes.
- Integrate existing internal API capabilities as well as existing and future AI and GenAI capabilities.
- Design, recommend and implement novel solutions for complex business problems and apply appropriate architectures.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of machine learning methods and techniques.
- Design solutions that integrate with existing workflows that may include human-machine partnerships.
- Coordinate and mentor junior Data Scientists.
- Provide quality feedback and insightful guidance to cross-functional teams to design optimal solutions.
- Adhere to sound software engineering practices.
- Independently and collaboratively develop solutions and strategies to solve key business problems with minimal to no guidance.
- Develop diagnostic tools related to understand and optimize the healthcare supply chain.
- Take problem from idea to production ready monitored application.
- Develop robust reusable software infrastructure.
- Develop processes and tools to build, monitor and analyze model performance.
- Share results with all stakeholders and broader community in an easily accessible and understandable way.
- Build solutions that may combine many different data science methods such as: clustering, parameter inference, feature design, feature discovery, feature engineering, classification, regression, visualization, etc.

- Adept with a wide range of visualization methods to facilitate targeted analysis.
- Expert in UI development and visualization.
- Expertise in one or more machine learning or advanced statistical domains and their real-world applications, advantages, and drawbacks (e.g. clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, Bayesian methods, Graphical Models, etc.).
- Creativity in solving challenging problems with uncertain solutions.
- Adaptability and flexibility. Ability to juggle multiple projects serving a diverse array of stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills applicable to internal and external needs.
- Experience with at least one database technology (e.g. Tabular, Graph, Document, Vector, etc.)
- Proficiency in at least one statistical and data-oriented programming language (e.g. Python, R, etc.).
- Experience working with and creating data structures, abstract data types, domain models.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Required Education, Certifications, and Experience
- BS in computer science or related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience building front end solutions for AI, ML, Data Science applications.
- 2+ years’ experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, Julia, etc.)
- 3+ years’ experience using a variety of data science and/or machine learning methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with UI development within Salesforce.
- Experience with Angular
- Experience/background in healthcare and/or supply chain management.
- Experience with AWS ecosystem.
- Experience with GenAI models and solutions.
- Experience working with multiple database technologies (e.g. Tabular, Graph, Document, Vector, etc.)

Estimated salary range: $122,900 - $163,800
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
