Raytheon is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our Digital Technology Analytics & Automation Applied Artificial Intelligence team.
What You Will Do
Collaborate across Raytheon, and RTX business units to develop analytic products for agile delivery spanning functional and program areas using AWS and Azure platforms
Translate complex analytical findings into clear insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
Serve as a technical authority and mentor for data scientists, analysts, and business partners.
Influence organizational standards by researching and deploying technical solutions for business partners
Use commercial software development processes: good software hygiene regarding code documentation, unit testing, bug tracking, version control, MLOps concepts, processes, and technologies for solution development
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
Experience with Python development (numpy, scipy, scikit-image, and scikit-learn) for integration into statistical and/or machine learning applications (beyond academic examples).
Experience with relational databases management and SQL development.
Experience in presenting to executive level management across functional and company
Experience applying quantitative techniques (normalization, standardization, applied statistics) to cleanse and explore large, complex data sets in preparation for further analysis.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience meeting with business stakeholders to identify and develop requirements for strategic use cases and research opportunities.
Experience with design, train, fine tune, deploy Large Language Models (LLMs) (e.g. GPT-based, Mistral, custom transformer architectures).
Experience in creating repeatable, reusable processes and scalable data products with the advanced analytics team using Scaled Agile Framework methodology.
Proficiency with at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow.
Experience building data visualizations with applications such as Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, etc.

Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate for this role will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories).

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
