We're on the hunt for experienced senior data scientists who can tackle some of our most significant challenges in the realm of analytics for our supply chain. Our supply chain plays a critical role in Dandy's dental operations, overseeing critical areas like manufacturing, logistics/procurement, on-time measurement, product feature enhancement for better quality, and capacity/utilization optimization. In this dynamic, cross-functional role, you'll have the freedom to independently harness data expertise to build products and drive recommendations that propel Dandy to become the top dental lab in the industry.
Your responsibilities/opportunities
Build production models to automate and optimize decision processes within our manufacturing facilities
Drive performance within Supply Chain & Operations through experimentation and simulation modeling
Develop and share insights that influence the various supply teams and partner functions, such as operations and product.
Define the data language (i.e. KPIs, dashboards, measurement, etc) within Supply Chain & Operations to reduce ambiguity and drive accountability
Actively uplevel the Data organization through mentoring other analysts
Travel of up to 15% is required in this role
About you:
6+ years of experience working in data science and analytics, ideally within supply chain, manufacturing, or operations functions
BA/BS in a quantitative field such as computer science, operations research, statistics, engineering or a BA/BS in behavioral science (economics, psychology, etc) with an applied background in data
Excellent SQL and Python skills
Strong communication skills and experience communicating results in a way that drives change. You have the ability to use data to inform, align, and lead
Strong senses of velocity, autonomy, and ownership
Strong critical thinking & problem-solving skills
Bonus points:
Have hands on-experience embedded in operations-heavy teams
Familiarity with generative AI concepts
Interest in working and learning in an earlier stage company where we’re still working out some of the basics
Strong customer empathy, particularly for dentists
Experience with Hex, Dagster, and DBT
