Job Overview:
Octopus by RTG is hiring for a reputable organization in the GCC, a Senior Data Migration Engineer for 5 Months duration period.
The Data Migration Specialist role requires at least 5 years of experience. Responsibilities include planning and executing data migrations using PostgreSQL and Node.js, developing migration scripts, collaborating with stakeholders, and utilizing AWS services. The candidate will monitor and troubleshoot processes, ensure data integrity, document procedures, and provide post-migration support. AWS certifications and experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and data security best practices are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute data migration strategies from legacy systems to the new platform based on PostgreSQL and Nodejs.
- Develop and implement robust data migration scripts and tools to ensure accurate and efficient data transfer.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and migration objectives.
- Utilize AWS services to facilitate data migration and ensure scalability, security, and reliability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data migration processes, addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Perform data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure data integrity throughout the migration process.
- Document data migration processes, procedures, and outcomes for future reference and compliance.
- Provide post-migration support and address any data-related issues that arise after the transition.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data migration or related roles.
- Proven experience in planning and executing large-scale data migration projects.
- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and Nodejs.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration.
- Extensive experience with AWS services.
- AWS Certified Database – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar certifications.
- Experience with data warehousing solutions and data lakes.
- Knowledge of data security best practices and compliance standards.
