Responsibilities:

Peraton is seeking a Senior Data Flow Engineer responsible for the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of large, complex data flows using the NiagaraFiles software application.


The engineer will evaluate data formatting or software issues affecting data flows and collaborate with Engineers and developers to identify effective solutions. They will also conduct assessments of existing data flows to optimize performance and ensure all flows meet compliance standards.


The team member will review and process DMRs and develop solutions that support efficient data flow implementation. Additionally, the Senior Engineer will participate in Data Flow Modernization efforts, migrating current hardware‑based flows to a virtual cloud environment. This work includes evaluating existing flows, developing requirements, and partnering with Operations team members to rebuild new flows.


This position includes one week of on‑call support, with occasional on‑site reporting required for urgent issues affecting systems that support data flows. On‑call rotation typically occurs once every 6 to 8 weeks.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • Seventeen (17) years of experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required 
  • Ideal candidates will have experience with the following;
  • 6+ years of data flow experience
  • Minimum working 10 year’s working within the Intelligence Community working with mission systems and mission data formats
  • Experience with Mission Systems that process and manage mission data
  • Experience working with mission data formats
  • Experience reviewing and processing, or creating Dataflow Management Requests, DMRs
  • Experience with Apache NiFi functionality for managing, building and documenting complex Dataflows
  • Experience with DeltFi is highly desirable
  • Experience managing analytical needs and requirements
  • Experience in creating Systems Architectural Diagrams depicting software and system functions
  • Experience providing customer support to assist users and customers with data flow questions and concerns
  • Self-starter and well organized with the ability to work independently

Target Salary Range$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
