Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical vision and hands-on expertise to execute platform solutions.
  • Cloud computing infrastructure, including scale, performance, and cost management.
  • Gather technical requirements, validate architecture, and create/review designs.
  • Coordinate efforts across the data engineering, data curation, and platform engineering teams to successful completion.
  • Guide engineering resources towards code standards and templates as part of data frameworks and patterns.
  • Demonstrate ownership of technical stacks for individual cloud applications.
  • Align with AbbVie systems lifecycle standards and processes.
  • Ability to manage time and deliver results across multiple workstreams at once.
  • Work with team members from around the globe (onsite, offshore).
  • Onsite position/2days a week WFH eligible.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Position requires Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering/Applications and ten years (10) years of IT experience. Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Masters’ Degree in Computer Engineering/Applications and eight (8) years of IT experience. Foreign equivalent degree accepted.

Requires 8 years of experience in the following: Hands-on technical proficiency in Python, Apache, Spark, and SQL; AWS development with core AWS services like EC2, Glue, Spark, S3, Redshift, and Athena; Relational and non-relational databases from a data domain perspective; Building data engineering pipelines using orchestration tools like Apache Airflow and GlueETL; Developing API architecture; and Metadata management, data quality, master data, and data lineage.

Requires 3 years of experience in the following: Serving as a Technical Project Owner; and Serving as a Team Lead.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $117,957 - $178,500 per year
