RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, efficient, and robust data architectures to meet business and analytical needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, build domain expertise, and define optimal data models and structures.
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration solutions for large-scale structured and unstructured data.
• Optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Manage and maintain databases, data warehouses, and data lakes ensuring performance, integrity, and security.
• Establish and enforce data quality standards, validation rules, and governance practices.
• Drive improvements in data quality, accessibility, and documentation of data assets.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and high-quality standards.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to track pipeline performance and resolve bottlenecks.
• Partner with stakeholders to support reporting needs and enable data visualization (e.g., Power BI).
• Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of pipelines, workflows, and data models.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Advance proficiency in Python (must-have) for building scalable data pipelines, processing frameworks, and API services
• Advanced SQL skills with ability to write efficient, complex queries.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and data lake architectures.
• Experience with modern ETL/ELT tools such as Azure Data Factory and/or Apache Airflow.
• Experience working with AWS services (important) such as S3, EMR, or similar cloud-based data platforms.
• Strong understanding of data quality practices including profiling, cleansing, transformation, and validation.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across global teams.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

OTHER NICE TO HAVE QUALICATIONS:

Experience in: 

• Experience with dbt (data build tool) for data transformation and modeling.
• Experience building data models for Power BI.
• Working knowledge of Azure ecosystem (Data Lake Gen2, Storage Accounts, Azure Functions, Logic Apps).
• Exposure to multi-cloud environments (Azure + AWS).
