About the Job

As a Senior Data Engineer at TRACT, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture, design, and implementation of our insights platform. Leveraging your expertise in Data development, you will lead the technical design and implementation of scalable and reliable data pipelines and APIs. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will translate business requirements into efficient and maintainable backend solutions, optimizing performance while ensuring data integrity and security. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build solutions that are shaping the future of agriculture and food sustainability.

About You

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent. Master's degree is a plus;
• You bring 7+ years of experience in data engineering (with 2+ years as a Senior Engineer), with a strong focus on developing scalable data pipelines, APIs, and backend systems.
• You have strong proficiency in Python and experience working with a tech stack similar to ours: FastAPI, Airflow, BigQuery, and Terraform. Experience with Google Cloud data pipeline services, and streaming data tools is a plus.
• You have experience in data integration techniques, including EL, ETL, and ELT, ensuring seamless data flow and transformation.
• You have a strong grasp of software design principles and architectural patterns, with familiarity in data architectures such as Data Lakes and Data Warehouses—ensuring efficient storage, processing, and retrieval of both structured and unstructured data.
• Knowledge of Data Management and Governance is a plus, ensuring compliance, security, and best practices in handling data.
• You’re an effective communicator and mentor, able to lead and collaborate within teams;
• You are familiar with agile development methodologies and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
