What you'll do:
Design, implement, and maintain our Data Warehouse, including monitoring, alerting, and incident resolution.
Administer tools and systems, ensuring security, access control, and performance.
Help software engineering teams understand product performance over time.
Partner with the BI team to enable self-service datasets for key business areas.
Champion automation through Infrastructure-as-Code and scripting.
Uphold data quality, standardisation, documentation, and onboarding best practices
Lead the ingestion of new data sources into the warehouse.

What we're looking for:
Solid experience in a Data Engineering role (experience with cloud data platforms preferred).
Bonus points if you have experience working in scaling consumer tech business or marketplace.
Solid understanding of data modelling, pipelines, and warehousing
Hands-on experience with at least some of our stack (Snowflake, dbt, AWS, Airflow, Python, etc.)
Strong problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and a passion for scalable, automated solutions.
Enjoy working with internal stakeholders to consistently deliver against key projects and have excellent collaboration and communication skills.
As part of our small team, you’ll need a hands-on, can-do attitude. You’re someone who’s self-motivated and knows how to drive results.
Able to commute to our offices in Cape Town at least 3 days a week.
