Overview

We are rebuilding our reporting and analytics platform with the goal of delivering scalable global reporting, fast multi-source aggregations, and AI-driven insights. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who can design and build the next-generation data foundation powering both customer-facing reports and internal AI-driven recommendations. 

In this role, you will design data models, build ETL/ELT pipelines, integrate SQL-based data sources, and help create AI-ready datasets. You will partner closely with product, AI/ML engineers, and backend teams to ensure our data is clean, consistent, and optimized for analytical and AI experiences. 

This is a remote role.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to consolidate data across multiple SQL databases and services. 

• Implement ingestion and aggregation flows into Azure Data Explorer (ADX) or other analytical data stores. 

• Develop high-performance aggregated tables and models used by customer-facing reports and dashboards. 

• Collaborate on a semantic data layer to make data consistent and consumable by AI/LLM-powered features. 

• Ensure high data quality, lineage, observability, and reliability across the data platform. 

• Work with product and AI teams to build datasets optimized for recommendations, anomaly detection, or LLM reasoning. 

• Optimize query performance, storage layout, indexing/partitioning strategies, and ingestion throughput. 

• Participate in architectural decisions for the evolution of the reporting platform. 

• Enable self-service analytics by modeling datasets with clear metrics and dimensions. 
  

Qualifications 

• 4+ years experience as a Data Engineer or similar role. 

• Strong SQL expertise, including performance tuning and complex transformations. 

• Proven experience building data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, or similar. 

• Experience with at least one distributed analytics engine (ADX, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.). 

• Strong data modeling experience (star schema, dimensional modeling, or equivalent). 

• Experience integrating multiple heterogeneous data sources. 

• Solid programming skills in Python (or another scripting language). 

• Familiarity with cloud data architectures (Azure preferred). 
  

Preferred Qualifications and Skills 

• Experience preparing or modeling datasets for ML/AI applications. 

• Knowledge of semantic modeling tools (dbt, Cube, semantic layers in BI platforms). 

• Experience with LLMs, vector databases, RAG systems, or AI analytics pipelines. 

• Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.). 

• Experience with event ingestion (Kafka, EventHub) is a plus.
