Job TitleSenior Data EngineerJob DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with over 10 years of experience in designing and delivering advanced data solutions in production environments. You will play a key role in shaping our data platform, leading the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines and services.
You will be working in the record keeping team within the data platform area. This team is responsible for creating services for platform users to ensure their data is compliant.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
Develop and deploy RESTful APIs using FastAPI (or similar frameworks) to expose data services.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using Azure DevOps.
Optimize data workflows for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
Monitor and troubleshoot production data pipelines and services.
Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices are followed.
Extensive hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and modern data architecture principles (Lakehouse, Medallion).
Deep understanding of Parquet file formats and schema evolution.
Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, and FastAPI.
Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.
Solid understanding of ETL/ELT, data modeling, and orchestration.
Experience with Azure Cloud services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Azure SQL, Key Vault, etc.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD).
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using BICEP or Terraform.
CI/CD pipeline implementation with Azure DevOps.
Automation scripting with PowerShell.
Experience working in a Data Platform team.
Background in the Financial Industry.
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
Workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow.
