Sr. Data Engineer wanted by American Express Global Business Travel, Egencia in Scottsdale, AZ.
- Designing, architecting, and deploying cloud database systems, leveraging AWS managed database services to support Egencia’s industry leading corporate travel platform
- Consulting with application teams on database technology selection, schema design, database coding, and database performance tuning
- Developing best practices for deploying, configuring, and monitoring high availability database systems within AWS including, but not limited to, database platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Neptune, DBPaaS, Postgres and SQL Server
- Taking a lead role in communicating and collaborating with Egencia’s application teams to drive Database Engineering initiatives.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in any occupation which includes the required experience/skills.
- 5 years of experience in building and installing relational databases
- 5 years of experience working with Amazon Web Services and Snowflake
- 5 years of experience working with Enterprise Spark platforms
- 5 years of experience with data migration strategies, data modeling and tuning activities (any one or a combination of Python, Java or relevant scripting language)
- 5 years of experience in developing and maintaining complex code units, perform quality check and debugging warehouse applications
- 5 years of experience with Unix Shell scripting
- 5 years of experience in designing and developing staging and data warehousing applications. (Using Snowflake or other similar data warehousing technologies.)
- 5 years of experience with troubleshooting and fixing production job failures, performing data investigations and providing production deployed solutions.
May work from home within commuting distance to office. Salary range $148,512-$193,700. #LI-DNI
