Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our Data team, playing a key role in making Bitrise the de facto Mobile DevOps platform.

As a Senior Data Engineer you will join the Data Team, within the R&D organization. Collaboration is an important part of our culture, so you will work together with cross-functional teams along your journey. You will have the chance to tackle various challenges and solve complex problems.

We have an office in Budapest and we occasionally organize in-person team events, but this is a remote position for candidates living in Hungary.
The gross monthly salary range for this position is 1,700,000-2,200,000 HUF.

What you will do

• You will work both on in-product and internal data engineering features.
• Break problems down to manageable and predictable outcomes.
• Ship value frequently to our customers and internal teams.
• Work on automations to continuously decrease manual workload.
• Partner with other team members to define the technical and feature roadmaps for our goals.
• Communicate effectively and shape the direction of our data engineering domain.

What we expect from you

• You have sound experience and solid foundations working as a Data Engineer.
• You have a deep understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• You are passionate about engineering, data, analytics, and automation.
• You are able to understand and explain complex problems in a simple way.
• You are not afraid of giving and receiving feedback in a meaningful and assertive way.
• You are fluent in English, whether it’s a Slack, e-mail, Google Meet or an in-person conversation.

What would knock our socks off 

• Being confident using dbt, Airflow, BigQuery, and cloud technologies like AWS or GCP.
• Experience with stream processing frameworks, like Apache Beam, Flink or Spark.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Experience working with LLM and other AI tools.
• Experience working on a SaaS product or in a startup environment.
