CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative software engineer with a proactive mindset who wants to help us make roads safer by making drivers better! 

Responsibilities 

  • Solve complex problems and transform them into business solutions in collaboration with team members
  • Analyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications suitable for implementation
  • Able to independently transform complex technical requirement into smaller implementable pieces; able to implement performant software solutions that are maintainable, scalable, reliable and testable
  • Participate in code and design reviews
  • Train and guide junior developers on proper software development procedures and methods
  • Follow company defined development and operational standards and processes
  • Provide on-call support during business critical emergency scenarios. Support and troubleshoot production issues as needed.
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or equivalent years of experience and/or certification
  • 4+ years of relevant working experience
  • Experience designing or developing Restful APIs or web services 
  • Experience and exposure with some or all of the following: 
    • Python, Go, and/or Rust
    • Containerization technologies (specifically Docker) 
    • Developing web applications (HTTP REST backend) 
    • SQL and NoSQL
  • Comfortable working with AWS services
    • EC2, S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, RDS (Postgres), NoSQL
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies (specifically SCRUM)
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Customer obsessed, demonstrates initiative, has a learning mindset, takes ownership
  • Proven ability to deliver results
  • Ability to commute to our Cambridge, MA office 3 days per week 
  • An analytical mindset
