About your team
ISS Delivery provides the design and delivery of all changes in processes and/or technology solutions that support the growth for Fidelity’s Global Investment Solutions & Services business (ISS). We support Investment Management, Asset Management Operations and Distribtion team primarily located in London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Toronto, Australia, Singapore and China.
About your role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team, focusing on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data solutions primarily using Oracle technologies while integrating with modern cloud services. This role bridges our existing data infrastructure with evolving cloud-based systems, requiring both deep database expertise and adaptability to new technologies..

Key Responsibilities
- Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Experience in Reverse Engineering and understanding complex data relationships, ( Legacy Technologies and Transitioning to modern cloud based solutions )
- Manage stakeholder expectations and articulate trade-offs, timelines and decisions
- Ownership of the design and development of end-to-end data solutions for Oracle-based systems and provide technical oversight to a small team of data engineers as part of project delivery
- Create and maintain efficient data pipelines for extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes, Implement data quality controls and validation processes to ensure data integrity
- Document database designs, procedures, and configurations to support knowledge sharing and system maintenance.Lead code reviews and contribute to define practices for database development
- Work closely with Data Architects to collaborate on the long term data strategy of the team, Integrate Oracle systems with cloud services, particularly AWS S3 and related technologies
- Demonstrated ability to work within Agile development methodologies
- 7+ years of experience with Oracle databases, including advanced SQL and PL/SQL development (stored procedures, functions, packages)
- Ability to reverse engineer existing database schemas and understand complex data relationships
- Strong knowledge of data modeling principles, database design, and data warehousing concepts
- Proficiency with Python for data processing, automation, and Experience implementing and maintaining data quality controls, reconciliations, and data validation frameworks
- Experience with ETL processes and workflow orchestration tools, preferably Control-M , Experience with version control systems, preferably Git/GitHub
- Knowledge of investment management industry concepts, investment Risk, Potfolio Analysis , security master, fund reference data, transactions, orders, holdings, asset classes, and fund accounting
- Experience with Oracle APEX development and application supportUnix/Linux shell scripting skills for automation and data processing .
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated database deployments ,Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.)
- Experience with AWS services, particularly S3, Lambda, and Step Functions
- Exposure to front-office risk platforms
- Knowledge of database security and access control best practices , Database performance tuning and query optimization .Strong troubleshooting, familiarity with production support, and incident management skills
- Excellent written communication skills for technical documentation and knowledge sharing

Skills Required
- 7+ years of experience with Oracle databases
