Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer within the Commercial & Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) organization. The role resides in the Enterprise Counterparty Risk Technology (ECRT) team, which develops and supports technology solutions that enable the identification, measurement, aggregation, and reporting of counterparty credit risk across the enterprise.
ECRT partners closely with Corporate Risk, Lines of Business, and Enterprise Counterparty Credit Risk teams to deliver strategic technology solutions that help ensure risks are effectively managed within the firm's established risk appetite. This position will work closely with the Enterprise Counterparty Credit Risk Management organization and requires a strong understanding of the capital markets and investment banking domain.
The ideal candidate will possess experience with counterparty credit risk, capital markets products, and relevant regulatory frameworks, as well as a solid understanding of clearing operations, prime brokerage, and broader investment banking business processes. In addition to strong technical expertise, the role requires the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and risk-focused technology solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
- Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
- Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
- Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of Python development experience
- 4+ years of SQL development and data analysis experience
- 2+ years of Power BI reporting and dashboard development experience
- 3+ years of experience supporting Counterparty Credit Risk functions within Capital Markets environments
- Experience developing and supporting data visualizations using Dremio
- Java development experience
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams, including participation in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and stand-ups
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for project tracking, collaboration, and documentation
- Experience utilizing CI/CD tools to automate build, testing, and deployment processes
- Experience working with Apache Iceberg table formats in modern data platforms
- Experience leveraging GitHub Copilot to enhance developer productivity and code quality
- Ability to utilize Agentic AI tools to design, develop, test, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and data solutions
- Must be able to work onsite at one of the posted locations; hybrid work schedule

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
