Your Responsibilities:
- Lead cross team data projects to ensure our pipelines are reliable, efficient, and testable
- Communicate efficiently across team boundaries to establish overarching data architecture, and provide guidance to individual teams
- Deliver well-defined, transformed, tested, documented, and code-reviewed DBT models and ETL pipelines
- Mentor fellow Engineers to help develop and grow their technical skills
- Build self-service tools that empower engineers, data scientists, and analysts to quickly get key business insights
- Understand our Rover's data needs and identifying inefficiencies in the Data Platform to help prioritize and inform our team's roadmap
Your Qualifications:
- 6+ years of data engineering, software engineering, data science, or other relevant experience
- Expertise in Python and SQL with a passion for writing high-quality code
- Experience designing and deploying highly performant data pipelines with reliable monitoring and logging practices
- Proven track record of exercising data engineering best practices around data governance, data modeling, automated testing, and monitoring.
- Experience and enthusiasm for mentoring teammates, providing technical feedback, and sharing knowledge with others
- Expertise with the majority of our tech stack: Python, DBT, Dagster, Redshift, Docker, Kafka, Kubernetes, Terraform
