Mission Brief
Your main objective will be to work hands-on with our Data Platform, which consolidates all structured and unstructured test, flight, and process data from across the company. Your work will empower data-driven decisions in various departments and enable us to generate valuable insights from cross-departmental data.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
- Build modern, scalable, and high-performance solutions for our data platform.
- Develop and deploy efficient ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load a large amount of data from diverse sources.
- Contribute to data modeling and architecture decisions to ensure consistency, accessibility, low latency, and long-term maintainability of the data landscape.
- Ensure data quality through validation processes and adherence to data governance policies.
- Provide observability for the Data Platform processes, enabling a quick reaction to any disruptions.
- Author technical and user documentation.
- Guide less experienced engineers by sharing your knowledge and expertise.
Qualification Checklist
- Experience with Apache Spark, PySpark, Python and DataFrame handling
- Hands-on practice with Microsoft Fabric (or similar platforms like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake)
- Highly proficient with batch and streaming data processing
- Solid understanding of data architectures (lakehouse, warehouse, data streaming, medallion pattern)
- Experience with DeltaLake and Iceberg storage frameworks
- Excellent SQL proficiency for data querying, transformation, and analysis
- Experience with version control systems (preferably Git)
Bonus Skills
- Experience with Python query engines (e.g. polars, duckdb)
- Experience with Kafka and Kafka related technologies (e.g. Apache Flink)
- Hands-on experience with PowerBI
- Understanding of infrastructure, Azure cloud services and network
