We design and maintain scalable data pipelines, ensuring reliable, high‑quality data delivery for advanced analytics, machine learning, and decision‑support systems. About the Role:
We’re looking for a passionate Senior Data Engineer I to support the activities in a senior capacity. There are many ETL pipelines, data stores, dataset generation and content retrieval capabilities that require continuous modification, execution and support. The team works closely with both product and other platform teams to meet business requirements, organization policies and evolving standards.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining, designing, extending and improving robust and scalable pipelines, following clean code and best-practice software engineering principles
Working with technologies including Java (Spring) microservices, Airflow, AWS, SQL, shell scripting, git, GitHub Actions and SFTP
Collaborating with operations to build and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS to host and monitor the services and automating common tasks mercilessly
Regularly collaborating with business partners on priorities while still maintaining alignment with architectural and security standards and policies.
Supporting the Tech Lead and more junior engineers, providing code reviews and giving guidance, planning of work with our product partners and ensuring execution of high-level deliverables on timelines
Requirements:
A passionate team leader in data engineering with 4-6 years of strong commercial software engineering experience delivering server-side applications
Excellent programming skills with Java and Python
Experience with Java 17+, Spring, AWS, XML parsing, SQL
Experience with ETL, Oracle/MySQL DB, Python, Airflow
An advocate of best practices for rapid development of quality software, including clean code, architectural design patterns and CI/CD
Comfortable learning new technologies, languages, and tools on the job
