Zayo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer - Finance & Reporting to play a key role in financial data integration, automation, and reporting, supporting critical finance, billing, cash applications, and tax processes. Our Senior Data Engineer - Finance & Reporting is responsible for designing, maintaining, and enhancing data pipelines, reporting solutions, and automation tools that improve finance operations, month-end close processes, and enterprise reporting.

Our Senior Data Engineer - Finance & Reporting will work closely with the Data Analytics & Reporting team to support finance analytics while also partnering with billing, cash applications, and tax teams to manage and enhance mission-critical billing integrations, general ledger data flows, and financial reporting solutions.

This role requires extensive expertise in SQL, VBA, PYTHON, ETL development, and financial system integrations, with a strong focus on automation, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.
*We're open to this position working remotely within the United States; however, our ideal candidate will be able to work in a hybrid capacity out of our Denver, CO headquarters (1401 Wynkoop).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain financial data pipelines to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and operational finance processes.

• Develop and enhance reporting & analytics tools used by billing, cash applications, and tax teams for month-end close and financial reconciliation.

• Migrate legacy ETL jobs (VBA) to a more modern suite/platform.

• Partner with FP&A, Accounting, and Billing teams to automate financial reporting processes and improve month-end close efficiency.

• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of financial data across ERP, Salesforce, Snowflake, and reporting tools.

• Own and maintain the data pipeline between the Salesforce and Oracle Fusion to ensure accurate and timely billing invoices.

• Develop automation solutions for invoice processing, revenue recognition, and cash application reporting.

• Troubleshoot and resolve billing data discrepancies and integration issues in partnership with finance and IT teams.

• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL-based data models and ETL pipelines in SQL Server & Snowflake to support finance, billing, and tax teams.

• Act as the technical expert for financial data transformations, aggregations, and automation.

• Enhance and maintain custom VBA-based solutions used for financial operations reporting.

• Work within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), collaborating with the Data Analytics & Reporting team to prioritize enhancements and ensure timely delivery of data solutions.

• Participate in agile ceremonies, backlog grooming, and sprint planning to manage reporting enhancements and system integrations.

• Partner with the Manager, Data Analytics & Reporting to drive continuous improvements in data reporting, automation, and finance operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field Business, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, or Computer Science required. Masters degree in a related field, preferred.

• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in data engineering, financial system integrations, or financial analytics.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, VBA, PYTHON,ETL development, and data modeling.

• Experience with Dataiku or similar development tools.

• Experience with financial data pipelines, ERP systems (Oracle Fusion), and CRM integrations (Salesforce).

• Strong understanding of finance processes (billing, revenue recognition, cash applications, and tax reporting).

• Familiarity with agile methodologies (SAFe preferred) and backlog prioritization for finance-related development work.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to data integrity, security, and system performance.

Estimated Base Salary Range: $123,200 - $150,600 USD/annually

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
