Saxo is becoming even more data-driven. We’re seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and operate the data foundation for marketing analytics, personalization, experimentation and data science that drive top-funnel growth.
About the team You’ll join Digital Analytics & Marketing Science, partnering with analysts, data scientists, Enterprise Architecture and the Data Platform to deliver secure, reliable datasets and services for data-driven marketing and business outcomes.
What you’ll do
Own end-to-end data products: from ingestion to production ops with clear SLAs/SLOs
Build batch and streaming pipelines on Databricks/Spark with Delta Lake (incl. CDC, enrichment, features/model scoring)
Design optimized data models for analytics/ML; manage schema evolution and versioning
Implement robust data quality and contracts; automate tests, validation, backfills and anomaly detection
Orchestrate workflows with Databricks Workflows/Airflow; optimize for reliability, performance and cost
Expose data via SQL, files and APIs; build lightweight data services when needed
Ensure observability (logging, metrics, lineage, alerts) and maintain documentation/runbooks
Secure data by design: PII handling, encryption, RBAC/ABAC, secrets (Key Vault), Unity Catalog and governance
Collaborate closely with stakeholders; maintain Git repos, clean code, reviews and CI/CD

Python (incl. PySpark), SQL; Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog on Azure
Kafka/Event Hubs for streaming; Databricks Workflows/Airflow for orchestration
GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps CI/CD; Terraform/Bicep; containers/Kubernetes (for data services)
Data quality/observability tools (e.g., Great Expectations); BI (Power BI) and martech exposure are a plus
What you bring
Proven experience delivering production-grade data platforms/pipelines
Strong Python and SQL; large-scale data wrangling and Spark/Databricks performance tuning
Experience with batch and streaming patterns (Structured Streaming, CDC, idempotent/exactly-once)
Solid software engineering: testing, code reviews, version control, CI/CD
Governance, security and privacy awareness in regulated environments; hands-on PII/access controls
Clear communication in English; comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical teams
Master’s in CS/IT or similar (or equivalent experience)
Nice to have
dbt or Delta Live Tables; Kubernetes-based services; exposure to ML/AI and feature pipelines
Adobe Experience Cloud, experimentation/personalization tools; Power BI
