Position Overview:
The Senior Data Engineer for Dutch Bros IT Data Management & Engineering organization plays a critical role in designing, developing & optimizing Data Integration Pipelines for Data Platforms within our organization, ensuring that our data infrastructure is robust, flexible, and aligned with our strategic goals. They will lead our data integration efforts, focusing on APIs, data integration platforms, and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust data pipelines and integration solutions to meet our organization’s evolving data needs.
The Senior Data Engineer contributes to data modeling, upholding data pipeline standards and best practices in shaping the technology backbone of our data ecosystem. They are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data cloud platforms that enable us to collect, store, process, and analyze vast amounts of data efficiently and effectively.
Job Qualifications:

10+ years’ experience of implementing data-intensive solutions using agile methodologies
-
Proficient in one or more programming languages commonly used in data engineering such as Python, SQL
-
2+ years of hands-on experience working on Snowflake, Snowpipe, SnowSQL, replication, data-sharing, development activities, and fully implementing a production grade data solution on Snowflake
-
3+ years of analytic data modeling experience, especially dimensional data modeling
-
Knowledge in database design & development & SQL on Oracle, SAP HANA, or similar technologies, preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of work experience on Snowflake, Databricks and Azure storage or S3
-
Experience in real-time ETL/ELT, Big Data pipelines, Kafka, Workato, ADF, Matillion,
-
DBT, etc., preferred

Expertise in data vault 2.0 modeling

Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python and or spark
-
Multiple years of experience with software engineering best practices (unit testing, automation, design patterns, peer review, etc.)

1-2 years of experience with Cloud-native development and Container Orchestration tools (Serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.), preferred

Exposure to a range of table and file formats including Iceberg, Hive, Avro, Parquet and JSON

Experience in cloud native technologies and patterns (AWS,Azure)

Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their impact on BI implementations

Support Advanced Analytics by developing data pipelines and frameworks to support Machine Learning

Ability to work with both structured and unstructured data formats and implement solutions for real-time data processing

Fundamental DevOps Practices: Knowledge of unit testing, CI/CD, and repository management

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues with data

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on driving insights from data to support business objectives

Location Requirement:
This role is located in the Greater Phoenix area. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.
