As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design and implement data solutions that enable analytics, machine learning, and reporting at scale. Based in our consulting hub in Athens, you will work with your project team to provide our clients the high quality and reliability we are known for.
Your tasks will include:- Designing, building, and maintaining modern data pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Palantir Foundry, or dbt
- Developing and optimizing data architectures for batch and real-time data integration
- Building scalable data models that support reporting, analytics, and machine learning use cases
- Implementing data quality checks, monitoring, and performance tuning
- Collaborating with analysts, data scientists, and BI developers to understand requirements and deliver usable data
- Advising clients on architecture, governance, and best practices for cloud-based data platforms
- Occasionally traveling to Switzerland and internationally to meet clients and collaborate with our team at headquarters in Zurich
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field
- Solid hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools and platforms (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, dbt, Palantir Foundry, or Apache Spark)
- Proficiency in SQL and one or more programming languages (e.g. Python or Scala)
- Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing principles
- Experience working with cloud-based environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and infrastructure as code is a plus
- Down-to-earth and pragmatic result-oriented attitude
- Excellent communication skills in English
