Senior Data Engineer - Ad networks - Models

The Voodoo Ad-Network team is an autonomous product of around 30 people that carries the ambitious mission of providing ad network services. One goal is to leverage Voodoo’s first party data to improve Voodoo’s monetisation. Moreover the product is growing through new ventures like opening to external inventory, reaching external advertisers market and social network monetisation through BeReal recent acquisition. Thanks to promising results, our ambition is now to scale up the team to support growth.

The product is composed of top-tier software engineers, infrastructure engineers, data engineers, mobile engineers, and data scientists.

The Models team is a core element of the targeting performance. It leverages machine learning and a strong business understanding to directly impact the product financial performance. It’s composed of mostly seniors Data Analysts, Analytics Engineers, Data Engineers and Data Scientists/ML Engineers that iterate together on finding and building the next performing iteration.

• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists to improve various core components such as Feature store, Data Lakehouse, ML model serving.

• Take ownership of projects from initial discussions to release, including feature estimation & scoping, architecture design, and benchmarking of new technologies

• Build and maintain quality data pipelines to align with ever-evolving business needs

• Contribute to the development our backend applications for ML model serving

• Work closely with infrastructure teams to guarantee scalability

• Work in a very agile environment with a fast decision process, having the opportunity to collaborate directly with people working on back-end development, data science, mobile games, broad audience mobile apps, product & marketing

• 5/6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or another similar role

• Experience with Spark at scale

• Extensive experience with Python, ideally for both backend and ETL applications

• Deep understanding of data lakehouse design and optimization

• Experience with Amazon Web Services

• Experience with Data Pipelines with DBT

• Familiarity with scalability, reliability, and security topics

• Understanding of the challenges involved in running ML models in production (familiar with topics such as feature store, training-serving skew, etc.)

• Excellent communication skills, you can speak & write English
