Senior Data Conversion Engineers ensure that the data conversions are delivered to customers on time and to the required quality standards. Through the execution of technical and administrative tasks, the Engineer works with the customer and trainer to deliver data conversions according to specifications. This position will work cooperatively with the Implementation Specialist to complete data Conversion as outlined within the workflow for the customer. This role requires a strong background in project management and advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with the Implementation Specialist to complete data conversion as outlined within the workflow for the customer
- Complete assigned tasks as outlined in the customer’s project plan and/or as outlined by the Project Manager and/or Implementation Specialist
- Convert data from customers legacy system into new system based on required quality standards
- Respect the end user’s knowledge and sentiment during all interactions
- Provide accurate and appropriate feedback/reporting regarding the data integrity
- Respond and/or monitor customer issues reported by Deployment Specialists or directly reported by customers during the deployment period
- Assist the Project Manager in completing all deployment scheduling and pre‐assessment activities
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- Three (3)+ healthcare industry experience
- Three (3)+ years in similar role (data conversions, DBA data migrations SQL Developer)
- Advanced Proficiency in SQL 2008 2012 2019, Oracle 10/11G, Progress DB
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Work with and manipulate data
- Strong background in project-management
- Possesses advanced troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Maintains the ability to create and modify SQL scripts
- Strong SQL knowledge and familiarity with various types of databases as well as experience with select statements containing inner and outer joins
- Ability to create, modify and trouble-shoot applications in .NET, C#, VB, Java, Perl
- Strong Organizational skills
- Ability to communicate with customers and internal stakeholders
- Basic Project Management skills
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- While at work, this position is primarily a sedentary job and requires that the associate can work in an environment where they will consistently be seated for the majority of the workday
- This role requires that one can sit and regularly type on a keyboard the majority of the workday
- This position requires the ability to observe a computer screen for long periods of time to observe their own and others’ work, as well as in-coming and out-going communications via the computer and/or mobile devices
- The role necessitates the ability to listen and speak clearly to customers and other associates
- This role requires infrequent travel (less than 10%)
