Senior Data Analytics Specialist (f/k/a Senior Supply Chain Analyst – Development and Optimization)
Job Summary
Responsible for identifying and documenting opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and cost via data and process analysis and technology adoption. Supports the design and implementation of new supply chain systems across a regional network of distribution centers. Serves as a change agent to align internal and external partners to drive transformative initiatives. Identifies and recommends value added net new technology, quantifies value, and recommends adoption plan. Drives operational and continuous improvement while focusing on optimizing current and future DC processes. Additional duties and responsibilities include:
- Generate actionable insights to drive data clean up, process improvement, compliance, improved technology utilization, or new technology adoption. Formulate strategy and execution recommendations required for successful supply chain systems adoption.
- Identify, gather, and synthesize raw operational and supply chain data for analysis. Determine data and process anomalies, identify root cause, and recommend action plans for resolution.
- Support enhanced technology utilization or net new technology adoption efforts through data analysis, process observation, and soliciting user feedback. Collaborate cross-functionally and with third-party consultants to drive technology transformation initiatives.
- Provide training and problem resolution to internal and external customers to drive successful design, implementation, and sustainability of supply chain systems solutions.
- Develop decision support tools and financial models to analyze the cost/benefit tradeoffs of technology solutions.
- Collaborate with DC associates, management, senior leaders, and consultants to drive successful design, implementation, and sustainability of supply chain systems solutions.
- Document business requirements, functional and system design, processes, and procedures.
- Perform data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, and/or problem analysis.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Analytics, Data Science or closely related field. 2 years of work experience in offered or similar position. Stated experience must include at least one year with the following:
- designing or maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes for large-scale datasets
- hands on experience with SQL and one statistical programming language (Python or R) for data modeling
- SAP or other ERP systems integrated with enterprise data platforms (e.g. Snowflake) and BI Tools (Tableau or Power BI)

Job Summary
Responsible for creating and developing solutions for business problems using data mining and analytics. Leverages innovative analytical techniques to uncover patterns and trends in data. Utilizes data visualizations to implement and socialize actionable and implementable insights with business partners, including marketing, sales, and supply chain.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Partners with internal and external stakeholders to develop and manage data logistics, including data transfers, data structures, and business rules to enable project execution.
- Oversees the utilization of data modeling/analysis techniques to mine systems and applications for knowledge and information that support the enhancement of business processes.
- Builds, deploys, and maintains data support tools, metadata inventories and definitions for database file/table creation.
- Deploys analytical solutions to business problems. Reviews quality assurance/quality control data and project output for accuracy.
- Presents findings to key internal and external stakeholders. Communicates key findings and recommendations.
- Creates compelling presentations that provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Manages multiple projects concurrently and prioritizes and monitors project timelines and scopes.
Nature and Scope
- Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
- Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
- May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
