WORK LOCATION

This is a remote position with eligibility in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, LA, MD, MA, MI, MO, MN, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI, WV, VT, D.C. Candidates must reside in one of the following locations for consideration.

PAY TRANSPARANCY

This role will offer $100,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and location.

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of business intelligence dashboards and reporting solutions using Amazon QuickSight. This role partners closely with stakeholders across business units to translate complex data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and operational performance. This individual owns the QuickSight reporting environment, ensures data accuracy and scalability, and serves as a subject matter expert in data visualization best practices. The Senior Analyst mentors' junior analysts and promotes consistent standards in reporting, documentation, and governance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain dynamic dashboards, KPIs, and analytical reports using Amazon QuickSight.
• Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into intuitive and effective data visualizations.
• Build, optimize, and manage SPICE datasets, SQL queries, and supporting data structures to ensure performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and proper governance controls.
• Conduct advanced data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, risks, and opportunities that drive business improvement.
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for QuickSight, establishing standards and promoting best practices across the organization.
• Create and maintain documentation for report specifications, business definitions, metadata, and data lineage.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to Data Analysts, supporting skill development in data visualization, storytelling, and analytical techniques.
• Evaluate and implement enhancements to reporting capabilities in alignment with evolving business needs and AWS BI ecosystem advancements.
• Support cross-functional initiatives requiring analytical expertise and executive-level reporting.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Demonstrated ability to design visually compelling, user-friendly dashboards and executive-level reporting solutions.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into data-driven solutions.

• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data governance best practices preferred.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience with Amazon QuickSight, including SPICE data modeling and dashboard development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience working in Agile or fast-paced environments supporting multiple stakeholders.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Familiarity with other BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau preferred.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience querying large datasets from cloud-based data warehouses such as Redshift, Snowflake, or Athena.
• Experience with AWS ecosystem tools such as S3, Lambda, and Glue preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Primarily a sedentary position requiring prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a workstation. Frequent use of a computer and keyboard; repetitive wrist/hand movements and fine motor skills for typing and mouse use.
