Department:

WDTech - R&D

We are Walker & Dunlop.  We are one of the largest providers of capital to the commercial real estate industry, enabling real estate owners and operators to bring their visions of communities — where people live, work, shop, and play — to life. We are committed to creating meaningful social, environmental, and economic change in our communities.

Department Overview

WDTech is W&D’s in-house technology team – a group of collaborative and highly skilled technology professionals, all of whom are leading experts in real estate data, data science, and technology.

WDTech Engineering builds solutions that impact not only our products but also the people and processes across our organization. A commitment to innovation and a passion for disrupting the old-fashioned real estate industry are our highest priorities.

The Impact You Will Have

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will own end-to-end data analysis, from shaping data releases to delivering actionable business insights through Power BI dashboards and in-depth analytical deep dives. You will ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality data products that support informed decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners—including Data Analysts, BI Analysts, Data Engineers, Data QA Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers—to collect, structure, and analyze data sources and datamarts. Your work will drive product and business insights, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen overall data quality as we continue to scale as a data-driven organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and curate existing data sources to support Product and Business stakeholders in making informed decisions
  • Own key components of the analytical lifecycle, from data exploration through insight delivery
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ensure correct interpretation and usage of datasets through clear technical definitions and documentation
  • Design, build, and deliver in-depth reporting and dashboards using Power BI
  • Perform data wrangling and transformations using SQL on analytical databases
  • Partner with data teams to contribute to data management and governance, including SOPs for data ingestion and datamart creation
  • Derive insights from user engagement and product analytics to optimize operations and improve business outcomes
  • Mentor junior analysts, championing best practices in analysis, visualization, and stakeholder engagement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in data analysis, with demonstrated ownership of end-to-end analytical projects
  • Extensive experience working with OLAP databases such as Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience with Python (3.5 or later) and geospatial querying
  • Experience in the real estate domain

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep, hands-on expertise in SQL
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
  • Ability to distill non-technical stakeholder needs into user-centric, consumable analyses and reports
  • Working knowledge of data ETL and processing techniques
  • Ability to leverage AI tooling to support technical documentation, reporting, and testing
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with a proactive, team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes
  • Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders
