About Fidelity Dalian
Established in 2007, FIL Technology (Dalian) Limited was the Fidelity’s first wholly owned enterprise in China. The Dalian office initially served as a systems development centre to bolster Fidelity’s growing business in the Asia Pacific region, with a primary focus on providing technology and web-based support and services. The office has continued to expand in recent years and now acts as the central service hub for the Asia Pacific region supporting multiple business functions including systems development and support, systems infrastructure support, retail operations, finance accounting services and investment administration & fund accounting.
Team Description
The Technology function provides IT services to the Fidelity International business, globally. These include the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, compliance, finance, legal, marketing and customer service functions. The broader organisation incorporates Infrastructure services that the firm relies on to operate on a day-to-day basis including data centre, networks, proximity services, security, voice, incident management and remediation.
The ISS Technology group is responsible for providing Technology solutions to the Investment Solutions & Services (ISS) business (which covers Investment Management, Asset Management Operations & Distribution business units globally)
The ISS Technology team supports and enhances existing applications as well as designs, builds and procures new solutions to meet requirements and enable the evolving business strategy.
As part of this group, a dedicated ISS Data Programme team has been mobilised as a key foundational programme to support the execution of the overarching ISS Strategic Change agenda, and Fidelity’s broader 2030 Vision.
About your role
The role will sit within the ISS Delivery Data Analysis chapter and fully aligned to deliver Fidelity’s cross functional ISS Data Programme in Technology, and the candidate will leverage their extensive industry knowledge to build a future state platform in collaboration with Business Architecture, Data Architecture, and business stakeholders.
The role is to maintain strong relationships with the various business contacts to ensure a superior service to our clients.
About you
You are a seasoned data analyst with a strong foundation in Agile principles and the Scrum framework. Your expertise in writing User Stories and Acceptance Criteria is complemented by your proficiency in analysis, manipulation, and modelling, making you adept at supporting systems integration planning. Your data analytics, consultative skills, logical approach to problem-solving capabilities enable you to thrive in demanding environments. You possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, allowing you to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders across all levels. Confident in working with senior management, you are capable of making informed recommendations and operating effectively with limited oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Data Product - Requirements Definition and Delivery of Data Outcomes
- Should be able to carry out or facilitate business analysis, information gathering and acquisition, data analysis among others in day-to-day tasks and foster a focus on information/data quality by developing and publishing relevant artifacts and analysis, contributing to the data product roadmap.
- Capture both functional and non-functional data requirements considering the data product and consumers perspectives.
- Responsible for the definition of data requirements, epics and stories within the product backlog and providing analysis support throughout the SDLC.
- Should be able to participate in development of strategic roadmaps, tactical plans and helps monitor adherence to overall target direction.
Data Quality and Integrity
- Define data quality use cases for all the required data sets and contribute to the technical frameworks of data quality.
- Align the functional solution with the best practice data architecture & engineering principles.
Coordination and Communication
- Excellent communication skills to influence technology and business stakeholders, attaining alignment and sign off on the requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to communicate data product deliveries and the change impact to the operating model.
- Collaborate closely with Data Governance, Business Architecture, and Data owners etc.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience with both RDBMS (Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL) and NoSQL (Dynamo, OpenSearch, Redis)
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and the Scrum framework.
- Proficient in writing User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
- Extensive experience in data analysis, data manipulation, and data modelling to assist with systems integration planning.
- Significant experience as a business analyst, with a proven track record of successful projects and leadership capabilities.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, as well as familiarity with various software and platforms used in business analysis.
- Excellent in data analytics and derivation of data model/entity relationship diagrams and data manipulation.
- Experienced requirements analysis and consultative skills, with a logical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels, along with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities to tackle complex business challenges and deliver effective solutions.
- Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment with speed and discipline.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience with workspace investments or personal investments.
- Experience with leveraging cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, data lakehouse architecture)
- Experience with Python.
