🌟 About the role

We're looking for a curious and strategic Senior Data Analyst to be the data partner our internal teams rely on. You'll be the go-to person for SQL queries, dashboard creation, and ad-hoc analysis—but you're not just a query executor. You're someone who digs deeper, asks the strategic questions others miss, and uncovers insights that drive real business impact.


As our Senior Data Analyst, you'll serve as both the reliable data service provider for our teams and the strategic thinker who helps shape how we understand our business. You'll work directly with leadership, product, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to answer their immediate questions while proactively identifying the bigger opportunities hidden in our data.

  • Data Service & Support
  • Execute SQL queries and create reports for internal stakeholders across all departments
  • Build and maintain dashboards that teams actually use and trust
  • Support other members of the company who are learning SQL (a new requirement for anyone in management, marketing, or design)
  • Provide rapid-fire analysis to support decision-making across growth, product, and operations
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across our reporting ecosystem

Strategic Analysis & Insights

  • Go beyond the initial ask—when someone requests a simple metric, you'll dig deeper to understand the "why" and "what if"
  • Identify patterns and trends that others miss, turning routine requests into strategic opportunities
  • Proactively surface insights about customer behavior, product usage, and business performance
  • Present findings in clear, actionable formats that drive immediate business decisions

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with Engineering to understand feature adoption and user engagement
  • Support Marketing with campaign performance analysis and customer segmentation
  • Enable Sales and Customer Success with data-driven customer insights
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives and business planning

Technical Skills

  • Advanced SQL proficiency
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar)
  • A preference for and comfort with AI-first data reporting tools like BlazeSQL or the Data Analyst GPT
  • Comfort with statistical analysis and A/B testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with Python/R for data analysis (nice to have)
  • Experience with modern data stack tools (dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar)

  • Natural curiosity - you don't just answer the question asked, you ask better questions
  • Strategic thinking - you connect data insights to business outcomes
  • Longtermism - you prefer to build self-serve tools or more robust reporting so the stakeholder’s next question is answered too

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent English communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Ability to engage with the business impact of your work, rather than simply the mechanics of your query
  • Comfort presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including being able to prioritize work based on impact for the business rather than being told what is most important

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related role
  • Experience working with subscription data preferred
  • Track record of supporting cross-functional teams with data insights
  • Experience in a fast-growing startup environment is a plus

💸 Compensation

Total Compensation: $30,000 USD annually (contractor basis)

This is a contractor position open to candidates based outside of the United States. You'll work closely with our global team, but you will be expected to have the majority of your workday in PST hours.
