What you'll do:
- Foundational Metrics & Instrumentation
- Implement the early metric tree and evolve it over time
- Define tracking specs for all product surfaces: onboarding, AI coach, gamification loops, missions, challenges, notifications.
- Build clean, reliable data pipelines in partnership with Engineering/ML.
- Set up analytics environments, dashboards, monitoring, and self-serve tools
- Establish AB testing framework for the new app, including experiment design, assignment, guardrails, power analysis, and interpretation.
- Identify leading indicators of habit-building, engagement, and improved financial outcomes.
- Run rapid analyses to support product decisions during MVP build and post-launch iterations.
- Analyse conversational data to understand model-behaviour patterns, user intent, failure cases, and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with PM/Design/ML to design quantitative and qualitative eval suites.
- Measure tone, safety, clarity, task completion, and user satisfaction.
- Explore Trustly’s extensive transaction history to uncover patterns in cashflow, income volatility, overdrafts, risky merchants, payday dynamics, and habit loops.
- Identify opportunities for interventions that reduce financial stress and support behaviour change.
- Work across massive datasets using Python, SQL, and notebook-driven workflows.
- Build prototypes for predictive signals (e.g., low-balance prediction, payday timing, early churn risk, mission success likelihood).
- Use modern LLM and GenAI tooling to extend analysis speed, quality, and repeatability.
- Deliver insights that influence product roadmap, coaching logic, and gamification design.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Design to translate insights into features.
- Provide data-driven storytelling to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Uphold high analytical standards and promote an outcome-driven culture.
Who you are
- 6+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or quantitative product analysis.
- Strong command of SQL, Python, and analytical/statistical toolkits.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets, ideally financial, consumer, or behavioural.
- Experience in consumer product companies — preferably fintech, gamification, or both.
- Practical experience running A/B tests, causal inference basics, experiment design, and interpreting noisy behavioural data.
- Comfortable partnering with ML/AI teams and analysing conversational or model-driven interactions.
- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field (advanced degree strongly preferred).
- Skilled at balancing speed with rigour; able to move fast in 0→1 environments while maintaining analytical integrity.
- Outcome-based thinker who uses the newest available tools to supercharge analysis.
- Excellent communicator who can simplify complexity for teams across Product, Engineering, Design, and Exec.

What We Do
At Trustly, we envision a world in which online payments are fast, simple and secure for everyone — merchants, consumers and banks alike.
One hundred years ago, cash was king. People got paid in cash, carried it in their wallets, and bought things with it at the local store. Payment was easy.
Oh, how the times have changed.
Today, our salaries are deposited straight into our bank accounts and we shop online, from merchants all around the world. So why is it so hard to pay straight from our bank accounts?
For consumers, paying online should be as easy as sliding a bill across the counter. And accepting payments and issuing refunds should be the least of merchants’ worries. Credit cards, debit cards, e-wallets, invoices and cash-on-delivery are all middlemen levying fees, debt and interest for the simple task of moving money from one person to another.
At Trustly, we work hard to make online payments easy.
