Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Data & Analytics Engineer (17743) to lead the migration and modernization of business intelligence assets from ThoughtSpot to Power BI. This role is ideal for a data professional with strong technical expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and cloud data platforms, who can also communicate effectively with global stakeholders and drive the adoption of self-service analytics across the organization.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the migration of dashboards, reports, and visualizations from ThoughtSpot to Power BI.
- Translate existing ThoughtSpot workflows into optimized Power BI reports aligned with enterprise data standards.
- Build reusable data models and semantic layers to support self-service analytics.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure clean, reliable data sources are available in Power BI.
- Optimize report performance, governance, and usability for global stakeholders.
- Train and onboard business users into the Power BI ecosystem.
- Contribute to BI best practices, documentation, and standardization efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5 years of experience in BI/reporting development.
- Strong expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and performance tuning.
- Solid SQL skills and experience querying Azure Databricks.
- Experience with data visualization best practices and data storytelling.
- Understanding of BI governance, security, and role-based access control.
- Experience working in Agile environments with sprint planning and iterative delivery.
- Familiarity with Power BI service administration, APIs, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytics into business-friendly insights.
Additional Requirements
- Experience with BI migration or cross-platform reporting consolidation.
- Hands-on experience with ThoughtSpot (dashboard/report creation, search-driven analytics).
- Knowledge of dbt and the modern data stack.
- Familiarity with the insurance domain.
- Exposure to cloud data integration tools such as Azure Data Factory or Synapse.
- Experience integrating AI/ML-driven insights into dashboards.
